My Christmas Planner Buddy Goodies

So I've had the pleasure of a getting to know my Planner Buddy Shirlene over this past year and I have to say we have shared so much during this year even to being diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis around the same time and being in therapy at the exact same time.  But I do know and strongly believe we were put together for a reason.

So let's jump into the wonderful package I recieved from her

Next you have the Planner Charm that I love and it includes an Angel and a Cross with a Twine Knot to remind me that I'm never alone God always has my back.

Yes, I love owls and what's funny I didn't even know I loved them so much until I started using a paper planner in July 2014 and since then I have stickers, mugs, cups, clips now the only thing I need is a cute tote and T-shirt of course they must be blinged out!!!!

Lastly in  my package was this Adult Coloring Book geared toward Bible art which is important to me.  I look forward to coloring in this book in the weeks to come as I recover from my next round of treatemnts.  This year has been a trying one for me and my Planner Buddy Shirlene which you can check her out on YouTube and Instagram

I'm a Grandma who's been very busy

I just realized it's been over a month since my last post so this is going to be a pic & news heavy post so grab a cup of tea or coffee and get comfy cause here we go.


The well I signed up for a SWAP on Ravelry because I love knitting cowls and I've done SWAPs before but this one by far was the BEST one I've ever participated in.  It's like my giver was totally in tuned with me and really made my day and then to hear from the person I had that they totally liked their package too made this so so so very very AWESOME to me!!!!!

My partner was Erban on Ravelry and I so totally love her for getting ME.  I've always wanted some NORO yarn and for those that read my blog you know I love Malabrigo she is so awesome because this package contained BOTH yes Both yarns.   JACKPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next item was a suit that a lady from my church asked if I could alter for her.  She needed the sleeves shorten and wanted the pants made into a skirt so here's the process

We had discussed doing a high/low hem but as I got to the end I realized that there wasn't enough material to pull that off and have it look tailored.  What I learned doing this alteration is how to shorten lined sleeves although I would love to be able to actually do a lined jacket from scratch.......stay tuned for that.  I also understand how to make a pair of pants into a well fitting skirt.  You know I've always wondered about the possibility of it all. What do you think?

In preperation of the birth of my grandson his mother wanted me to make a cover for his carseat so we picked this fabric and here it is.

So we got up on October 27, 2013 and made preperation for church and this is my baby and her baby

So in love with this precious bundle of Joy as I think back two years ago 10/2/11 when his mother, my youngest daughter and 3 other relatives almost died in a horrific car accident on the highway I've got so much to thank God for.  He can take a near fatal incident and bring so much joy and life to let you know that Now Faith is the substance of things Hoped for and the Evidence of things NOT seen.  He makes no mistakes.  

On that note I'm greatful and will be back hopefully not in another month to let you know what I've been up to.  Next on the agenda is Holiday meals and gifts.  Be blessed and as always be Creative.  

Installment 2 ~ older posts

This is the second installment of my blog transfer posts. I decided that I would take some of the highlights from my old blog and post them over here. These two are from March '09.

Just wanted to stop by as I take a break from life to share what I’ve been up to since my last post. First I would like to share my completed SWAP socks for my partner Cary.

I’ve discussed these socks on several previous posts and this was really good as a get your-feet-wet project

I still have a long way to go in my creativity but this is going pretty well for now. Still would like to know how do better layouts and putting my ideas together.

Making some progress

Well it’s the end of another week and there has been just a little bit of creating going on around here.

I’ve been wanting to give my girls a scrapbook highlighting their life from a Mothers point of view. So here’s The Princess’ first page this story began almost 20 years ago. Stay tuned as her story unfolds. I’m still reading and researching ways to be inspired through this process so hit me up with any tips.

Project Materials:

• 12 x 12 Glitter Paper
• Heart Breaker Glitter Embellishment
• Cricut Cartridge in Doodlecharm for the mounting shapes and to journal
• page projected by 12 x12 top load projector

Here’s my almost completed socks for my SWAP partner. They are your basic ribbed socks with short row heel made from STR medium wt. in Thistle. I’m really hoping my partner will like my effort. For me the hardest thing about SWAP’s is meeting someone’s standards but I try to give as I would like to receive. But choosing patterns is really hard for me as I’m still learning so many new things to try.

The rule was to create at least one pair of socks for your partner and this is my warm up pair. I have another pair that I will send in the last installment of our 3 SWAP installments. This SWAP has been even more fun because the partners here are sharing what they are using the yarn they recieved with the group.

Well this is all I have for now but there are a few projects in the works. I even have some sewing projects that I hope to have ready to share with you all soon.
